NBA Star Reveals Incredible Story About Steve Kerr /

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has endured a lot of criticism over his shot mechanics since coming into the NBA. Now a certified star on a max contract, Haliburton is thankful he didn't change his shooting motion when so many people believed he needed to.

During a recent episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, Haliburton revealed that Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was one of the only coaches who believed in his shot before the draft:

Haliburton revealed that Kerr told Luke Walton, who was his coach with the Sacramento Kings at the time, not to touch his shot. According to Haliburton, Kerr and the Warriors really liked him in the pre-draft process, but he ended up with the Kings. Walton of course used to coach under Kerr as an assistant with the Warriors, so that connection was already there.

Now a max player with the Pacers, Haliburton is thankful for Steve Kerr and his belief early on. Not many people believed Haliburton's shot mechanics were sustainable, but Kerr was integral in allowing the young guard to flourish in his own way. Had Kerr not shared that message with Walton, there's a chance the Kings would have been one of the teams attempting to alter Haliburton's shot.

While he never played under coach Kerr, Haliburton is thankful to have had his support.
