New Details of Steph Curry's Injury Revealed
The Golden State Warriors have ruled Steph Curry out for Tuesday night's game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves with what was initially called knee soreness; however, a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic has revealed that Curry actually has a knee sprain. As Charania reported, Curry is not expected to miss much time, but it does sound like this will be at a multi-game absence.
Even if Curry just misses a few games, this is still a major blow for a Warriors team who has struggled mightily outside of his production. Curry has been an early MVP candidate for the Warriors this season, averaging over 30 PPG with very little help from his teammates. Now out with a knee sprain, Curry will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. Minnesota, and his status going forward is unclear.
Since Curry was able to stay in the game on Sunday after initially hurting his knee, there is of course hope that it is not too serious. With Charania reporting that the Warriors star is not expected to miss much time, there is reason for optimism, but nothing can be entirely determined until further evaluations are done on Curry's knee.
For now, the Warriors will need others to step up in Curry's absence, because they have been heavily reliant on him to start this new season.
