Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Injury Status for Warriors vs Thunder Revealed
The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder face off in a battle of present vs future on Friday night, but it looks like one major star will be out.
It was reported that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be out against the Golden State Warriors due to a left knee sprain.
Shai just played yesterday against the New Orleans Pelicans in a game where the Thunder blew a 20-point lead. Despite the loss, he put up 20 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals on 40% shooting. In five games this season, Shai is averaging 24.8 points, 6.6 assists, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 steals on 47/26/92 shooting. He hasn't quite found his three-point stroke yet and he's averaging fewer points than last season, but it's still way too early.
Without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the court, Steph Curry will unanimously be the best player on the floor. It would have been fun to see the two guards square off in a battle of present vs future, but unfortunately, injuries happen in the NBA.
This is a game the Golden State Warriors absolutely need to take advantage of without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the court. Every little win the Warriors can get while Steph Curry matters, and needs to be taken advantage of. A win tomorrow night would give the Warriors a 5-1 record.
The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder face off tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. EST.
