Despite an incredible showing from New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry showed why he is the greatest shooter in NBA history, defeating Ionescu 29-26 in the special Steph vs. Sabrina three-point contest.

Ionescu matched any round from the first three-point competition with her score of 26, but Curry's 29 was enough to secure the win. This was a special event that showcased one of the brightest stars in the WNBA, who gave the greatest shooter the game has ever seen a real challenge.

Following the event, Curry said to NBA on TNT's Ernie Johnson, "This couldn't have gone any better because of us two taking the chance in front of this stage, one round with all the hype, to deliver like that. She set the bar, it was unbelievable to watch. This might be something - I don't know if anybody can fill these shoes, but it might be something we need to do more often."

The greatest shooter ever, Curry had a high bar to get over with Ionescu's 26. As previously mentioned, this matched any round from the first three-point competition that Damian Lillard won for the second-straight year. With certainly nothing to hang her head over, Ionescu was incredible, but got narrowly defeated by Curry.

This was a very fun event that the NBA will have to find a way to keep going in some way.
