Speaking recently with Complex, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry was asked about his camp, and specifically what players have been standouts over the years. When asked if there was a player from one of his camps that he knew would be special, Curry said Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

"Anthony Edwards for sure," Curry told Complex. "He just had a different demeanor and different competitive presence out there on the court during our camp sessions and even in the showcase game that we had. There were just plays that he made that nobody else really could. So I think that most people who watched that year would have had a lot of confidence in the fact that he'd be who he wanted to be."

Edwards has certainly become a special player, and is still getting better. The Warriors came just one pick short of having a chance to select Edwards in the draft, but he ultimately went first overall to the Timberwolves, while Golden State selected James Wiseman with the next pick.

The Timberwolves are still building around their core of Edwards and Karl Anthony-Towns, but they are understandably excited about what the future holds. At 22 years old, Edwards is still growing as a basketball player, and will only continue to get better. For Curry, he knew five years ago that Edwards was special.
