Steve Kerr Gives Unexpected Reaction to Draymond Green's Suspension
When it comes to the Draymond Green suspension, Steve Kerr is in a very difficult position.
On one end, Steve Kerr knows what Draymond Green did was wrong. He knows that Green shouldn't be choking another human being for an extended period of time. On the other end, Kerr has to back up his guys, especially someone who is one of the original big three. The end result was an interesting reaction to Draymond's suspension, one that took both sides.
"Yes, he definitely took it too far," Kerr said. "I didn't have a problem with him getting Rudy off of Klay, because the rule of thumb is you don't put your hands on another player on the other team, you get your own guy. So, I thought Rudy was wrong for putting his arms on Klay, regardless of his intentions. I had no problem with Draymond getting him off of him, but he's gotta let go. He hung on for 6 or 7 seconds, and it was a terrible visual for the league, for Draymond, for everybody. Draymond was wrong, he knows that. It's a bad look, the 5 games is deserved, and we move forward."
At the end of the day, what Draymond Green did was wrong and he deserved to be suspended. Even though Steve Kerr defends Green to a degree, he at least agrees with that core component - Draymond Green was wrong. Now, the Golden State Warriors have to figure out a way to survive without both Draymond and Steph Curry.
