Steve Kerr Reacts to Missed Goaltending Call During Warriors vs Nuggets
The Golden State Warriors lost to the Denver Nuggets by three points tonight, in a game they should have been awarded two more points. In the fourth quarter, referees missed a crucial goaltending call that Steve Kerr was incensed by during the game but had a much calmer response after the game.
"The non-goaltend call, it hurts, but I'm used to it," Kerr said. "It's a difficult call to make. It happens, bang bang. It seems like last year four or five of those, it's going to happen this year too. It's part of it, plenty of calls both ways. That's the way it goes."
It's surprising to see Kerr so calm about such an egregious missed call, but at the same time, it's still only game 9 of the season for the Warriors. If this were deeper in the season with much heavier playoff implications, one would have to for sure bet that Steve Kerr wouldn't be this calm.
If there was any silver lining for the Warriors in this situation, it's the sheer fact that it's still only game 9 of the season for the team. There's still a lot of basketball to play, and a lot of time for the Warriors to make up for this loss. While it would have been nice to end the losing streak against the Denver Nuggets, there will always be another opportunity.
