Update on Joel Embiid's Injury Suffered vs. Golden State Warriors
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was questionable on the injury report entering Tuesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors, and ended up playing. Not looking like himself, it was clear that Embiid was less than 100%, and ended up leaving the game early after Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga fell on his knee:
Following the game, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse provided an update, saying, "He obviously got landed on. So they're going to do an MRI tonight or tomorrow. It's kind of unrelated to what's been bothering him. So we'll just wait on that."
On Embiid playing in this game, Nurse said, "Obviously medical cleared him. Joel obviously is a big part of that, he said he was feeling good. He said he's more a little rusty, and he hadn't been on the court for five days, but he said he felt good."
The most interesting part about Nurse's comments is that this injury is unrelated to what Embiid had been dealing with. While Kuminga landed on the same knee that Embiid has been having issues with, Nurse believes this injury is separate from the injury that has been keeping Embiid out of recent games.
The next update will come once Embiid's MRI results are released, as that is now the biggest piece of news that the 76ers and their fans are waiting on.
