It has been a rough start to the season for Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson, but after his first 20-point game of the year, one NBA legend sees a breakout game in the near future. Speaking on the postgame show, Warriors legend and TV analyst Chris Mullen said Thompson is going to have a 50-point game very soon.

Thompson is one of the most lethal players in NBA history when he gets hot, and has certainly shown the ability throughout his career to explode for monster games. While Thompson may not be the player he was at his peak, the Warriors guard did have a 50-point game less than a year ago, scoring 54 points vs. the Atlanta Hawks on January 2nd, 2023.

If it's one of those nights where Thompson has it going, he can carry the Warriors to a win the same way his superstar teammate Steph Curry has done so many times. With the Warriors struggling to find consistency outside of Curry this season, a breakout game for Thompson could go a long way towards getting this team back on track.

The Warriors know they will need more than just Thompson to get going if they want to accomplish their goal of winning another championship, but getting another hot hand next to Steph Curry would do wonders for Golden State's offense right now.
