Steph Curry Makes Big Announcement
In a post on Tuesday morning, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry announced the return of the Underrated Golf Tour:
An official press release from Underrated Golf announced the following:
"Today, Stephen Curry, four-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP announced season three of the U.S. UNDERRATED Golf Tour will kick-off at the Old Barnwell Golf Course in Aiken, SC, June 21 - June 23. KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm returns as the presenting sponsor for the U.S. Tour and will work with UNDERRATED Golf in an effort to advance equity, access and opportunity for underrepresented and underrated youth in the sport of golf. The partnership with KPMG will bring a multitude of new offerings to the 2024 tour, including a mentoring program and a leadership development curriculum that will extend throughout the UNDERRATED Golf Tour season."
Curry shared a quote via the release that read the following:
"Golf has always been one of the most powerful vehicles to spark professional and social conversations. We are lucky to collaborate with our amazing partners at KPMG who work with our UNDERRATED Golf team to design engaging programs and opportunities for our junior golfers. Each year, we set out to provide underrepresented individuals access to the game who have never had it before, along with invaluable opportunities and benefits that come with the game of golf. However, UNDERRATED Golf is so much more than just the sport. This special program prioritizes off-course endeavors including special seminars that focus on a multitude of disciplines with an emphasis on business ethics, and various career opportunities across the golf industry and beyond."
Curry is not only a great golfer, but a great ambassador for the game. Always looking for ways to use his platform for good, Curry does exactly that with his Underrated Golf Tour. Of course one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, Curry's connection to golf also runs deep.
As he stated in this release, Curry is excited to continue using this Underrated Golf Tour as a force for good, while also enjoying all that the game itself has to offer.
