The Washington Wizards are continuing to spotlight Black Owned Businesses in DC, Maryland and Virginia, not only for Black History Month but throughout the season.

For 4 consecutive years, the Washington Wizards have been recognizing and showcasing local Black-owned businesses. In 2022, the Wizards spotlighted 6 businesses from November to April, on the team’s Black-Owned DMV page, the Wizards’ social channels, in-game activations through Wizards marketing assets, and on Monumental Sports Network. Wellspring Manor & Spa

Lisa and Kevin Alexander are co-owners of the Wellspring Manor & Spa. They share that they wanted to create a luxury destination where people of color can see themselves reflected in the experience. Capital City Mambo Sauce 

Arsha Jones and her late husband Charles established Capital City in 2011. This family-owned business manufacturers specialty foods based in Prince George’s County, MD and their Mambo sauce, a staple in DC, brings all natives back home. Hear their story in the video below and checkout their business here: capitalcity.com

Arlo Solutions

Arlo Solutions is a cybersecurity and management consulting firm that started in 2014. Hear their story in the video below and checkout their business here: arlo-solutions.com

BreAnna Holmes obtained her bachelors degree in mass communications, graduating with honors from Winston-Salem State University.
