Any Washington Wizards dreams, hopes, or desires to go undefeated in the preseason were diminished tonight when the team lost 134 – 98 on the Toronto Raptors’ home court.

The Raptors were also undefeated coming into preseason game 4 and will remain that way headed into the regular season. Kyle Kuzma was out again with a calf injury. Other notable injuries to the Wizards roster include. Johnny Davis (elbow), Anthony Gill (hamstring), and Landry Shamet (toe).

The Wizards had a strong start to the game when it was obvious the Toronto Raptors watched some film from the Wizards in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. The Raptors would get going mid through the first quarter and would not look back. The Raptors had 66 points in the paint, won the total rebounds game with 60, had 26 fastbreak points, and the bench scored 62 points.

Top scorers for the Wizards were:

Deni Avdija – 18

Eugene Omoruyi – 16

Tyus Jones – 11

Danilo Gallinari – 11

From the Raptors:

Scottie Barnes – 23

Pascal Siakam – 19

O.G. Anunoby – 15

Malachi Flynn – 13

Gradey Dick – 12

Now the Wizards leadership have the tall task of finalizing the roster before the start of the NBA regular season. The team has a good problem to have in that most have made an impact in some way that align with the vision leadership has set out for the team. It won’t be long now for the roster to be set and the game action when it counts starts.
