The Washington Wizards weren’t dealt any favors with their third game of the season being against the Boston Celtics. In front of the home crowd at Capital One Arena, the Wizards fall 126 – 107 to the Celtics.

The Celtics are another team that made a few moves this offseason. Their moves, however, are not signs of a team in rebuild but signs of team that are ready to hit the accelerator now well into the postseason. Their offseason additions of former Wizard Kristaps Porzingis and NBA Champion from the Milwaukee Bucks Jrue Holiday solidifies the Celtics are putting all of their cards in early relying on a strong starting five to lead the way.

If anyone anticipated that the Celtics would potentially give the Wizards fits offensively, you would be correct. It was obvious early on that this game was completely out of reach for the Wizards with the Celtics leading the Wizards 42-19 after the first quarter. The Celtics led by as much as 37 points and the Wizards would not see a lead at all in this game.

Celtics’ Jalen Brown would lead all scorers with 36 points, with Jayson Tatum a close second in scoring with 33 points. Kristaps Porzingis logged in 15 points to the scoreboard.

The Wizards had five players in double digits Kyle Kuzma (21), Eugene Omoruyi (14), Deni Avdija (11), Tyus Jones (11), and Jordan Poole (11).

Next up for the Wizards are the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, November 1 in Atlanta. This could be a game to continue to level set for the Wizards and see what they have as the season goes on.
