Initially listed as questionable, Wizards Center Daniel Gafford Has Been Downgraded to OUT tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The odds were already stacked against the Washington Wizards tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. Now the team will be without their only Center, Daniel Gafford, in the match-up. Gafford is out with a right hip bruise.

Currently, 76ers big man Joel Embiid is still listed as questionable with left knee soreness.

As Inside The Wizards Staff Writer Darrell Owens shared in his article, The Wizards Have A Joel Embiid Problem, in the last four contests against the Wizards, Embiid has scored 48/34/48/50 and no Wizards player has come close to slowing him down. Last week, Daniel Gafford did the best he could but fouled out late in the fourth. If Embiid does in fact play, this could be a dismal night for the Wizards.

If Embiid does not play, perhaps there’s a bit more of an opportunity for the Wizards to make things interesting. From Inside The Wizards Staff Writer Tyrone Montgomery on what could happen if Embiid does not play:

If Embiid isn’t able to play, the Wizards must be sure to take away all of the other complimentary pieces in Philly such as Tobias Harris and Kelly Oubre Jr and even De’Anthony Melton. Tyrese Maxey is going to get his regardless. He looks like a sure All Star this season. If the Wizards can follow up with those game plans, they may be able to pick up a win in the city of brotherly love tonight.

Why The Wizards May Finally Beat The 76ers Tonight

Johnny Davis, Ryan Rollins, Landry Shamet, and Delon Wright all remain out for the Wizards.
