After the game Coach Wes Unseld Jr. and Kyle Kuzma spoke to the media. Below are a few notable quotes from the postgame conference.
Coach Wes Unseld Jr.
"We had a little issue keeping the ball in front at times and I thought early, [there were] too many coverage mistakes, you know, just simple things that are preventable, controllable. Whether it's a lack of communication or late to communicate."
(On why Jordan Poole sat out the first 8 minutes of the fourth quarter) "I didn't want to run him too long. You know, I think he he was going and played him a little longer than a normal stretch. I knew I was going to go back to him. That group I had out there made a little a little bit of a push. So I liked that group and that's why, you know, brought him back late then you, you know, kind of playing offense, defense mix and match. Get him in, Danny out, BC [Bilal Coulibaly] in and so he had time to play offense defense with the free throws, but that's just more game flow than anything, you know, it was good to see him get it going during that stretch."
Kyle Kuzma
"I think the biggest thing is boxing out, you know, having our guards fly in, hitting somebody, you know, a lot of times we leave Gaff down there by himself."
Question: I know you're not one to take moral victories and things like that, but are there any positives you can take from a game like this against a good team that's on the rise?
Answer: "No, I mean for me, no, not really."
