The sky seems to be falling for Jordan Poole already and we aren’t even at the NBA All Star Break yet. JP was a walking bucket during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors. There, he played in a backup role behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Playing behind them, you more than likely are playing with the lead. You also more than likely are playing against backups being that Poole came off the bench there. Poole even played next to both Klay and Steph at times so he probably had the third best defender, maybe even fourth or fifth best defender on him too. Additionally, he had a legendary Hall of Fame coach in Steve Kerr too.

Washington Wizards Defense is Drowning in a (Jordan) Poole

Things are a lot different now playing in Washington. Poole doesn’t have a legendary Head Coach who has been battle tested as a player and coach. Wes Unseld Jr. is still considered to be early within his NBA Coaching career. Also, Poole doesn’t get the liberty of having the third or fourth best defender guarding him. He is forced against the second and sometimes the best defender at times. He doesn’t have two All Stars next to him on the floor either. Him and Kyle Kuzma are the stars now. The proof is showing up right before our very eyes too.

Jordan Poole looks like a player in Washington that won’t be there long. In fact, if the Wizards are forced to move on from him, they may be getting fifty cents on the dollar for him. He hasn’t been able to find the basket over his last couple of games.

To make matters worst, Jordan Poole is the most inefficient player in the entire NBA. Why is that the case? Well for one, he doesn’t play much defense. He’s an undersized shooting guard which doesn’t help his situation. Two, he lives and dies by the three point shot. That is the case with all of his shots, not just the ones beyond the arc. He needs to attack the basket more and try to get to the free throw line. While it is still early in the campaign, the Jordan Poole experiment hasn’t worked out thus far for either side.
