WASHINGTON-The Washington Wizards returned home to take on the Portland Trailblazers for one game before heading to Brooklyn on Saturday. This game was the first game of the season series between Portland and Washington.

The Last Outing for the Wizards

The Wizards defeat the Spurs 127-106 in their last game and were on a six-game winning streak. Deni Avdija had a team-high 25 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Bradley Beal (21 points), Kristaps Porzingis (17 points) and Kyle Kuzma (16 points) helped lead the Wizards to victory. Washington won their first game in San Antonio since December 1999, a total of 8,451 days and over 23 years.

Washington’s game against the Pistons was canceled on Wednesday due to severe weather. So would the extra days of rest hurt their momentum?

What Happen vs Portland?

Washington had complete control of this game until 6:32 left in the 4th quarter when Portland would take the lead for good. The Blazers would go on to win 124-116 to grab their 26th win of the year and get back to .500 on the year. Anfernee Simons had a team-high 33 points. Damien Lillard (29 points), Trenton Watford (21 points) and Josh Hart (22 points) help secure the win for Portland.

For the Wizards, Bradley Beal had a game-high 34 points while adding three rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis would drop 32 points in the loss.

The Washington Wizards travel to Brooklyn to take the Nets Saturday, February 4 at 7 PM EST from Barclays Center.
