Bradley Beal Has A Throwback Night Against Minnesota
MINNESOTA-The Washington Wizards faced the Minnesota Timberwolves in the last game of a three-game road trip on Thursday night right before the 2023 All-Star break. This game was the final game of the season series between Minnesota and Washington. The Wizards had a 1-0 lead in the season series heading into the game.
THE SEASON SERIES…
Game 1 Washington defeated Minnesota 142-127. The Wizards would dominate the Timberwolves to get back over .500 with their 11th win of the season at that time. Kristaps Porzingis went off scoring 41 points with four rebounds. Porzingis scored 29 of his 41 points in the first half. He also went 11 of 11 from the free throw line and 12 of 18 from the floor. Kyle Kuzma (23 points) and Bradley Beal (22 points) helped pushed the Wizards to victory.
For the Wolves, Anthony Edwards had a team-high 29 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Jaylen Nowell (23 points), Rudy Gobert (19 points) and D’Angelo Russell, who was traded to the Lakers a week ago scored 17 points for the Wolves on the loss.
The Finale…
The Wizards won their last game 126-101 against Portland and would make a comeback from being down 20 points in this game to grab their second win in a row. The Wizards didn’t take their first lead until 1:14 left in the 4th quarter on a Kyle Kuzma three-pointer which would lead to a 114-106 win and a season sweep of Minnesota.
Washington’s Bradley Beal scored a game-high 35 points in the win. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards scored 34 points for the Wolves in a tough loss.
What’s Next!
The Washington Wizards (28-30) will travel home to take the Knicks (33-27) Friday, February 24 at 7 PM EST from Capital One Arena to start the second half of the regular season.
