As much as we love to watch the game of basketball when it comes to the NBA, it is easy to forget that this is a business. They say money talks in life however, Wizards forward Deni Avdija decided to let his game do all the talking. Sundays are known as fun days and Deni Avdija just had him a happy Sunday as he signed a contract extension with the Washington Wizards. The news was reported Sunday afternoon by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

This news comes as a bit of a surprise. There’s no question Deni has been playing well and has improved his game every year he’s been in the NBA. However, the team did draft Bilal Coulibaly who was presumed to be the guy at the Small Forward position for the Wizards. However, it appears Deni Avdija has done enough to impress this Wizards team along with their front office to keep him here for the long run.

Going into his fourth year as a pro in the NBA, Deni’s points per game, steals per game, assist per game, rebounds, and field goal percentage has all gone up each and every year. His minutes per game has slightly increased every year as well so with this contract extension, we can be sure to expect an even better season for the Israel native. The Washington Wizards have put their complete trust in Deni Avdija and are hoping he can continue to become the player they always believed he could become after drafting him with the number nine pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
