Accolades

Eugene Omoruyi accomplished a lot during his time at Oregon. He was the only Duck to start all 28 games in 2020-21 and led the team to being sixth place in the conference. He averaged 17.1 points per game and ranked sixth in the Pac-12 in steals (1.5 per game) as well as 14th in rebounds (5.4 per game). He also prides himself on being a high scorer, averaging in double figures in 26-of-28 games.

Personal Life

Eugene Omoruyi is a proud Nigerian-Canadian who was born in Benin City, Nigeria and immigrated to Canada with his family as a one-year-old. Playing soccer early on, he didn't start playing basketball until his second year of high school at Monsignor Percy Johnson. Throughout high school his career took off as he averaged 16.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, earning Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association First Team All-Star honors in his final season. 

Giving back to the community is very important to Eugene. The forward held his first annual Eugene Omoruyi Camp in August of 2023. "I am honored and blessed to have presented these wonderful kids a two-day camp, with a lot of energy and resilience. Thanks to my family, friends, Coaches, and everyone that helped put this together! More camps to definitely come in the future," Eugene shared on Instagram.
