When there are changes in life, it keeps things interesting. Many people believe change is good. If you are changing and growing, moving forward in life, then you are doing good things and making great decisions. The decision to grow is so important in the NBA and is critical to one’s career.

The NBA as we see it today is all about player empowerment. We look at the situation in Portland with Damian Lillard and the Miami Heat. He is hell-bent on joining the team that just represented the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. You can also look at the situation in Philadelphia as well. James Harden has went on the record to say he won’t suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers ever again.

Those two situations in Miami and Philadelphia has led to Kelly Oubre signing with the 76ers. Oubre started his career in Washington with the Wizards in 2015. He was a very raw yet highly talented player who didn’t get the opportunity he deserved with the Wizards. Last season, he had his best season yet scoring 20 PPG for the Charlotte Hornets.

Oubre has become quite the journeyman of the NBA. With this signing to the 76ers, he now joins his fourth team in five seasons as he has played for the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and the Charlotte Hornets. Oubre has a chance to start immediately for the 76ers.

Oubre was on the open market for quite some time. The Miami Heat were strong suitors and were expected to sign Oubre once they acquired Damian Lillard. With Oubre signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, a Lillard trade to Miami is growing less likely by the day. Kelly Oubre will look to continue to grow and learn as the former Wizard is in a win now situation with the 76ers.
