The Washington Wizards announced that second-year guard Johnny Davis will be out for the next 1-2 weeks. This is what the latest statement from the Washington Wizards about Davis’s injury says…

Washington Wizards Statement:

Guard Johnny Davis sprained his left elbow during Sunday’s (10-15-23) practice. The injury will be treated conservatively and his return to play prognosis will be evaluated weekly through clinical and functional testing. He is expected to miss one to two weeks.

According to Inside The Wizards Staff Writer Tyrone Montgomery Jr, The Wizards want to see him grow. Here’s what Tyrone Montgomery said last week about Johnny Davis in his article about Davis…

“The Wizards are continuing to water this precious and valuable vegetation of their garden. Johnny is still growing and learning. He will only continue to grow.”

The Wizards still have high expectations for Johnny Davis he led the team in minutes in the first preseason game against Cairns Taipans with 22 minutes (9 points) and was second to rookie guard Bilal Coulibaly with 26 minutes in last Thursday's game vs. Hornets (13 points).

It’s showing the Wizards want to give him more time on the floor to continue his development and being sidelined for the next week or two, will put a small dent into the development for now.
