Kristaps Porzingis On His Way To Boston?
Next on the Wizards trade block is Kristaps Porzingis. Plagued by injuries in the past, with the Wizards Porzingis showcased his skillset which earned him the name “Unicorn” early in his career. Porzingis played in 65 games this past season, the most he’s played since the 2016 – 2017 season.
Rumors swirled over the weekend about Porzingis being in serious trade talks over the weekend. Now these claims are more of a reality the night before the 2023 NBA Draft.
So far, here are the details:
The Kristaps Porzingis trade is a three team trade including the Wizards, Boston Celtics, and LA Clippers. Porzingis will head to Boston, Malcolm Brogdon to the Clippers, and Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, Danilo Gallinari and the 30th pick in this year’s Draft head to Washington.
For this trade to work, Porzingis would need to opt-in to his $36M deal for the upcoming season. Reports are there are still outstanding issues before an official agreement can be reached.

UPDATE: While one trade fell apart, another emerged. Porzingis still landed in Boston, with the third team involved in the trade being the Memphis Grizzlies.
Through the Porzingis trade, the Wizards have acquired point guard Tyus Jones from Memphis, Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala, and the 35th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft from Boston.
