Porzingis’ 38 Points Gets Outshined By Cam Thomas' 44-Point Performance
BROOKLYN-The Washington Wizards hit the road again to take on the Brooklyn Nets for one game before heading back home for a three game home-stand. This game was the final game of the season series between Brooklyn and Washington. Brooklyn had a 3-0 lead in the season series. Game 1 Brooklyn defeated Washington 128-86. In game 2 Brooklyn defeated Washington 113-107 and in Game 3 Brooklyn won 112-100.
The Last Time Out
The Wizards lost their last game 124-116 to Portland ending their six-game winning streak. Anfernee Simons had a team-high 33 points. Damien Lillard (29 points), Trenton Watford (21 points) and Josh Hart (22 points) helped secure the win for Portland. For the Wizards, Bradley Beal had a game-high 34 points while adding three rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis would drop 32 points in the loss.
The Nets Battle Back
Saturday Night looked to be an easy win for the Wizards. No Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, or Kyrie Irving on paper should spell victory for Washington, and in three and half quarters it seemed that way. Then the Wizards would lose Kyle Kuzma to a sprained ankle and slowly the Nets got back into the contest with 6:24 left in the fourth quarter. The game would go back in forth until the end when Cam Thomas and his 44 points would give the Nets a 125-123 win to complete the season sweep.
For Washington, Kristaps Porzingis would drop team-high 38 points. Deni Avdija (23 points) and Monte Morris (18 points) put out solid efforts in the loss.
Who’s Next for the Wizards
The Washington Wizards (24-28) will travel back to DC to host the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday, February 6 at 7 PM EST from Capital One Arena.
