Should The Washington Wizards Look to Trade for a Former Lottery Pick?
The Washington Wizards have gotten off to a less than ideal start to the season.
In fact, it's been awful, especially in the rebounding department as the Wizards are the worst team in the NBA, rebounding the ball only 39 rebounds a game on average.
Defensively Washington is the worst in the league giving up an astounding 50.8 percent defended field goal percentage, and inside five feet they're giving up a 68.2 field goal percentage with an average 21 field goals made.

If the Wizards have any plans on being competitive this year, they need to improve their interior presence.
It doesn't help starting center Daniel Gafford has been out with an ankle injury, but this is even more reason why a move needs to be made.
To put it bluntly, Washington absolutely needs another center because forward Kyle Kuzma isn't a low post defender and forward Mike Muscala shouldn't be a guy relied on down low.
This is where Detroit Pistons center James Wiseman comes into play, the former number two overall pick by the Golden State Warriors was traded and since has had a tough time finding his way on the floor.
The Pistons have a surplus of big men and Wiseman has become an afterthought.
So much so that he has had a healthy scratch in six of the seven games for Detroit including only six minutes in his one game he did play in.
Wiseman is obviously very talented; you don't get picked top two in an NBA draft without being so.
"His story is still developing. Nobody is putting a pin in that right now," Warriors guard Steph Curry said of Wiseman after they played the Cleveland Cavaliers. "I'm confident he'll be able to figure it out. It's just a matter of when."
Thats a pretty good endorsement if you ask me.
Wiseman should absolutely be on the Wizards radar; in fact, they should make a move for him now.

Washington is in a pivotal part of their franchise's future right now in the midst of this rebuild and they have guys on the team that are blocking younger guys from playing.
These guys could also be very valuable to other teams, veterans like guard Landry Shamet, forward Danilo Gallinari and previously mentioned Muscala are certainly ones on the radar that could be used in a trade like this.
It won't cost the Wizards much to swing Wiseman and if he can turn it around and play like the guy who Golden State thought he could be, it could be a huge help to turning this team around faster than people thought.
If he doesn't, well really what is the risk?
