The Washington Wizards have had their share of “streaks” and at times that’s not a good thing. In this case, however, the Wizards are on a six-game win streak. A streak that started around the same time the Rui Hachimura trade rumors really warmed up and then eventually happened (the trade).

After the trade occurred, the Wizards President/General Manager Tommy Sheppard told NBC Sports Washington sideline reporter Meghan McPeak during an interview that a big reason for the Hachimura trade involved the need for Deni Avdija to see the court more and get more minutes.

With Sheppard’s public sharing that Avdija was seeing the court less and less and he is a big part of the team’s future, let’s all now meet “Turbo”.

Since the trade, Deni “Turbo” Avidja has indeed been on the court more and he is surely using this as an opportunity to show all that he can do.

In Washington’s last game against the San Antonio Spurs, Avdija scored a career high 25 points. To add to his stat line, he also garnered nine rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal. In the four consecutive games, post Hachimura trade, Avdija scored 10+ points and five or more rebounds for the longest streak of this type of contribution in his career.

Only time will tell if Avdija continues to play at this level for the long haul. The Wizards went undefeated on this recent road trip and will need Avdija to stay consistent for sure with a few tough opponents coming up on the schedule soon.
