Three Reasons Why Kyle Kuzma Didn’t Make All Star Team

Why Didn’t Kyle Kuzma Make The All Star Team?

When you think of the Washington Wizards, the first name that comes to mind is Kyle Kuzma. Adding Jordan Poole this season added a bit of swagger to this team that they didn’t necessarily have to begin with initially. Poole has been a winner and a force on the offensive end his entire career as he played in Golden State alongside three Hall of Famers in Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

Although Jordan Poole sometimes steals the spotlight, the heart and soul of this Washington Wizards is Kyle Kuzma. He is having his best season as a pro in the NBA as he is now a number one option for the Wizards. His championship experience along with playing next to LeBron James has proven to be beneficial for him and the Wizards. It was expected that he would make the NBA Allstar Team this season. However, he came up short in that department. What we all want to know is why was this the case. Here are three reasons why he didn’t make the All-Star Team this season.

1. The Wizards Record

The Wizards have been struggling this season. Over the years, the NBA tends to reward teams that are winning each season by naming their star players to the All Star game. With the Wizards being one of the worst teams in the entire league this season, the NBA decided not to look Kuzma’s way despite all of the success he has been having individually this season.

2. Wizards Not Getting Enough Viewers/Recognition

Since the Wizards haven’t been very successful this season, many people at home aren’t breaking their necks to watch the Wizards play. From NBA League Pass, Comcast Sports Net to now being Monumental Sports, the viewership simply hasn’t been there. This is even the case at Capital One Arena. The attendance there isn’t the best. Even if and when it is high, many people there are there to see the away team. This goes as far as the sports networking covering different teams too. They tend to ignore and overlook the bad teams so they can focus on more superstars and teams that have a chance at winning. Kuzma is quietly having one of the best statistical seasons in the entire league for these very reasons.

3. Lack Of Respect

Often times this season, the Wizards have been on the wrong side of a blowout. Sometimes, people look at one’s body of work and their stats as empty calories or garbage time points at that point. Also, Kyle Kuzma has just started becoming a dominant player. Many people may feel that this is a coincidence. They want to see his success duplicated into another season. Kyle Kuzma hasn’t gotten the respect he deserves this season.
