Washington Wizards Face 3rd Easiest Strength of Schedule in January
As we all turn the calendar nobody would say 'no' to a relatively easy month of January to get things started and the Washington Wizards are no different.
Fortunately for the Wizards, the NBA has blessed them with the third-easiest strength of schedule to start the year with a list of opponents currently sitting sub-.500 this season.

With eight home games and seven on the road, Washington fans will get to see their favorite team more often than not, all starting with a Capital One Arena date against the New York Knicks on January 6th.
That will come after the team gets two of their road games out of the way with January 3rd and 5th matchups against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the schedule and is the tail of their first back-to-back of the new year.
The Wizards have three back-to-backs this month and the first one is a doozy.
On January 20th, Washington hosts No. 1 overall pick forward-center Victor Wembanyama - former teammate of guard Bilal Coulibaly - and the San Antonio Spurs.
The next night the defending champion Denver Nuggets enter Capital One giving the Wizards two nightmare big-man matchups for forward-center Daniel Gafford.
Three days after hosting the Nuggets, Washington will host the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz for the second back-to-back of the month.

While that Spurs matchup will have some sexiness to it for matchup reasons it also features one of two games this month the Wizards are ahead of their opponent in current NBA Power Rankings.
The other comes on January 15th, at home, against the last-ranked Detroit Pistons who Washington beat on November 27th of last year, 126-107 on the road.
