Washington Wizards Newly Acquired Isaiah Livers 'Excited' for Reunion with Jordan Poole

After a trade by the Washington Wizards brought new forward Isaiah Livers to D.C., he talked about how excited he was to team up with Jordan Poole again.

The Washington Wizards made a trade that brought together two former college teammates for a reunion.

Newly acquired Wizards forward Isaiah Livers spent the first three years of his professional career in his home state of Michigan with the Detroit Pistons.

But this last Sunday that all changed as Livers was traded to Washington as part of a four-player trade completed by the two teams.

The first observation a lot of people made was that Livers was teammates with current Wizards guard Jordan Poole at the University of Michigan.

They were both apart and played a key part in Michigan's NCAA tournament runner-up finish in 2018.

Michigan's Jordan Poole and Isaiah Livers (4) watch the final seconds of the 76-49 win against Minnesota in the Big Ten tournament semifinal Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the United Center in Chicago.

Now they get to play together in the NBA.

"I'm super excited," Livers responded to a question asked by Monumental Sports Network's Bijan Todd. "My roommate, my best friend, he's going to be my best man."

Chemistry is something that Washington has been lacking on the court this season so it could be a refreshing sight to see two guys who know each other's games very well playing together.

Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. should try and get these two guys on the court together as much as possible.

"It was great," Livers on what it was like after the trade news broke. "It was definitely the first call on my call log was Jordan. Obviously, I couldn't answer I was in practice. I hit him back a little later and all I see is this dude just smiling."

It is always heartwarming to see reunions between good friends.

The Wizards are hoping to see the chemistry these two have translate into team success on the court.
