When you think of sports teams mascots throughout The DMV, the most notable has to be The Washington Wizards mascot "G-Wiz"

G-Wiz was first introduced in 1997 as the team transitioned from being The Bullets to The Wizards but from 1997 to 2001 G-Wiz wasn't alone. His partner "G. Wiz" (that's G dot Wiz) was a genie dressed in traditional Arabian attire and was an additional mascot from 1997 to 2001. In 2001 the G. Wiz mascot was retired and G-Wiz became the official mascot.

Of course we can't forget about G-Man, the Wizards' all blue muscle stunt man with all the high-flying dunks! It's been clear to see what G. [dot] Wiz and G-Man are but the question for many years has been, what is G-Wiz?!

The Wizards team was tested to see if they know what their mascot is. Short answer, they don't know either LOL. Some of the players are saying he's a "big blue Christmas tree" or a "mix of a Teletubby and Cookie Monster" or even "Bigfoot disguised as a superhero." See what other hilarious guesses your favorite Wizards had in the video below.

No matter what he is, we know he brings the fun to game no matter what the scoreboard says. He'll play fun games with those in attendance at the games throughout the season, give out prizes, visit the community and bring the heat on his four-wheeler! Thanks G-Wiz (and the ones who dress up as him) for all the laughs throughout the years!
