Wizards Host Military Appreciation Night
The Washington Wizards big win over the Indiana Pacers last night was not the only news for the night. The team hosted their annual Military Appreciation Night as part of their continued effort to celebrate and acknowledge those who have served the United States Of America. This season the Wizards have donated over 7, 850 tickets to military veterans and their families. In honor of the night, the first 10,000 fans in attendance received a Wizards City Edition themed camo beanie.
Prior to the game, a Military Basketball Tournament featuring six military base recreational basketball teams took place at Capital One Arena. There were several food and drink specials as well as an opportunity to engage with Wizards alumni Michael Adams and Harvey Grant.
Army ROTC Cadets from several Historically Black Colleges and Universities were honored during the game's halftime.
The Washington Wizards put on quite the collective effort to defeat the Indiana Pacers 137-123 in front of their home crowd at Capital One Arena. This win was a huge one to get in front of the home crowd against the NBA In Season Tournament Eastern Conference winning Indiana Pacers.
