Wizards Make Moves Before Regular Season Start

The Wizards have made a few moves this week that have left everyone scratching their heads and trying to keep up with the latest moves.
Earlier this week, the Washington Wizards officially announced that they signed guard Devon Dotson to an Exhibit 10 contract. The team also announced that they waived Jules Bernard.
On Saturday, the team announced that they have officially signed shooting guard Hamidou Diallo and guard Gabe Kalscheur to Exhibit 10 contracts. A move that resulted in the waiving of Devon Dotson.
Hamidou Diallo was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2018-2019 season and spent seasons there. The last two seasons he played for the Detroit Pistons where he started in 29 games in the 2021-2022 season. Diallo averages 8.6 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, and 1.1 assists per game.
Gabe Kalscheur is rookie from the Iowa State Cyclones where he averaged 12.9 points per game last season. Kalscheur spent some time this summer playing summer league with the Golden State Warriors.
Then the team announced a few hours later that they waived Diallo and Kalscheur.
Interesting but ok.
Then the team announced at 4:07pm Saturday that they had signed Malik Fitts to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Then the team announced at 4:44pm Saturday that they had waived Malik Fitts.
Head Coach Wes Unseld Jr and Kyle Kuzma are slated to speak with the media tomorrow (Sunday) after practice. It will be interesting to see if there is mention of today’s moves and if Kuzma shares at all what he was dealing with from a calf injury perspective.
