Wizards Sign G-League Forward
The NBA All Star Break is officially done and over with now. With that being said, we can’t forget to show love and give credit when it is due. It certainly is due for Wizards Rising Star Bilal Coulibaly. He played well in the limited amount of action and minutes he did receive during the Rising Stars Game.
Bilal Coulibaly Leads The Way In Rising Stars Game
Despite their challenges and struggles throughout the season this year, the Washington Wizards have been proactive and always looking to improve the team rather it’s for the present or the future. Bilal Coulibaly is the future. He is a key piece the Wizards will lean on for years to come. However, in the meantime, the Wizards have looked into the G-League to help them now.
The Washington Wizards have signed Forward Justin Champagnie to a 10-day contract. This contract serves as a trial run for Justin. He will have the opportunity to prove his worth for the next week and a half which will serve as an opportunity for him to sign with the Wizards for the remainder of the season.
Justin Champagnie is no stranger to the NBA. He is in his third season with the league, although a lot of his time has been spent in the G-League. This is a deal that serves as a high reward and low risk for the Wizards. They are looking for ways to improve their team for the present and the future. At the young age of 22 years old, along with a 6’6 - 206 body frame and height, Justin will do wonders for the Wizards! He particularly will do wonders for an area they lack - Defensively.
He has been impressive in the G-League scoring over 22 points per game and grabbing almost nine boards a game too. That certainly is something the Wizards need to focus on as well. What’s also interesting is the fact that he shoots 50% from the field. That means he likes to take smart high percentage shots from the field. Justin Champagnie should help the Wizards out tremendously during his tenure.
