The Washington Wizards organization is welcoming a veteran presence for its G League team, the Capital City Go-Go.

According to HoopsHype insider Michael Scotto, the Go-Go have acquired five-year NBA pro Jalen McDaniels.

Per Matt Modderno of Bullets Forever: "The Capital City Go-Go, the Wizards’ G League affiliate, have acquired the returning player rights for Jalen McDaniels in a trade with the Memphis Hustle, the G League affiliate of the Grizzlies. In return, the Hustle will receive the Go-Go’s first and second round picks in the 2026 NBA G League Draft and the returning player rights to Max Heidegger."

It remains to be seen if McDaniels will join the Wizards in the NBA, but the 26-year-old forward still has some legs in him.

Last season, McDaniels played 50 games for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 3.4 points per game for the team. It was his only year with the organization as the Raptors traded him to the Sacramento Kings for a package headlined by point guard Davion Mitchell. McDaniels had two preseason appearances for the Kings before he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs to cut cap room. The Spurs waived him shortly after.

The Memphis Hustle picked up his G League rights, and then traded him to the Go-Go for the package listed above.

McDaniels will now go to the G League to get some reps in an attempt to catch onto an NBA roster in the middle of the season, whether it be with the Wizards or one of the 29 other teams. McDaniels can be a contributor for an NBA team this season, but with the Wizards already stacked with younger talent, it appears unlikely for the 2019 second-round pick to play for Washington this season.
