What Should The Wizards Do With Jordan Poole
The NBA regular season is quickly approaching it's conclusion. Unfortunately for the Washington Wizards, they have been out of the playoff race for awhile now. This season has had it's fair shares of ups and downs. The unfortunate downs have been centered around the Wizard's newest acquisition,, Jordan Poole.
The problem with Jordan Poole is the fact that the Wizards didn't get the same Jordan Poole they saw in Golden State over these last couple of years. One main reason is because the Wizards tried to use Poole off the ball a lot this season. Having a pure point guard in Tyus Jones contributed to that decision. However, we have seen glimpses of how important and effective Poole can be for the Wizards when they allow him to run the show.
Over the last four games, Poole has averaged 23 points per game. That is what the expectation was coming in to the season this year. It appears the Wizards and Jordan Poole may have figured things out for now. But what exactly should the Wizards do moving forward with Jordan Poole as we approach the NBA offseason?
What should the Wizards do with Jordan Poole
The Wizards experimented with bringing Jordan Poole off the bench late in the season. That is the role he became familiar with playing in Golden State. The role did improve his production. However, the Wizards brought him here to be a star or even a co-star in the starting five. With Poole's trade value increased with his recent surge in production, one thing the Wizards could and should do is field the trade market for him.
Trading Poole remains to be seen and determined if that will be an option. Certainly, if the right deal comes around, the Wizards should take advantage of that move. However, the right thing to do with Jordan Poole at this time is to exercise patience. That will be important as they have seen him improve his gameplay late into this season. It is also key as they don't know who will be the Head Coach next season for them. Who ever it is may be able to unlock something in Jordan Poole.
