SI's Best Shots From Redskins Camp
Jason Campbell
Jason Campbell and the Washington Redskins opened camp last week at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.
Chase Daniel
2007 Heisman Trophy finalist Chase Daniel signed with Washington as an undrafted rookie free agent in April. Daniel threw for more than 12,500 yards and 101 touchdowns for the Missouri Tigers.
Alex Buzbee and Rob Jackson
Defensive end Alex Buzbee, who missed the entire 2008 season after injuring his Achilles, is looking to earn his way into the rotation this season.
Joe Bugel, Chad Rinehart, Jeremy Bridges, D'Anthony Batiste and Antonio Dixon
Offensive line coach Joe Bugel will need to fill in the right side of his line during camp. Guard Randy Thomas is still recovering from injuries and tackle Stephon Heyer had a sub-par 2008 season, so Jeremy Bridges may have the opportunity to step in at one of those positions.
Alfred Fincher and Rocky McIntosh
Alfred Fincher, a reserve linebacker who sees time on special teams, and Rocky McIntosh, starting weak-side linebacker, will add to the Redskins' promising defense.
Antonio Dixon
Defensive Tackle Antonio Dixon signed with Washington as an undrafted free rookie agent in April 2009. Dixon had 45 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks in his four years at the University of Miami.
Offensive Line
The Redskins' offensive line helped the running game average 131 yards per game last season, eighth best in the NFL.
Redskins Quarterbacks
As a team, the Redskins threw for only 14 touchdowns last season, seventh lowest in the NFL. The Skins will have to improve their passing game if they hope to return to the playoffs after an 8-8 finish left them on the outside looking in last year.
Jason Campbell
Campbell will need to prove himself in the 2009 season to maintain his status as face of the franchise. Washington's 2005 first-round draft pick's starting position was questioned during the offseason when the Redskins attempted to trade for Jay Cutler.
Jason Campbell
Second-year coach Jim Zorn says Campbell is a more comfortable player this season.
Phillip Daniels
The 13-year veteran defensive end tore his ACL during last year's training camp, but says his knee has not bothered him this camp.
The Redskins started the 2008 strong before finishing 2-6 and missing the playoffs.
In the competitive NFC East, the Redskins will have to scratch and claw to find their way into the postseason. The defense has the potential to be one of the best in the conference, but the offense remains a bigger question mark.
Jason Campbell
This will be Campbell's second season as the Redskins' starting quarterback. He has a 62.9 completion percentage, 35 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 36 career starts.
