Why was Brees named the MVP of Super Bowl XLIV? The quarterback tied a Super Bowl record with 32 pass completions and threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

The Saints eked out a 31-28 overtime win over the Vikings in last January's NFC Championship, earning Brees the cover of Sports Illustrated on Feb. 1. In the game, Brees threw for three touchdowns and no interceptions.
