Justin Tuck highlights late inactives
Justin Tuck's injury is just the latest blow for an already troubled Giants team. (CSM/Landov)
A bad preseason for the Giants will bleed into the regular season, as Justin Tuck will miss the opener against the Redskins with a neck injury. He's been officially listed as inactive for the contest. Tuck, who was listed as questionable, was a game-time decision after missing Monday and Thursday's practice and being limited Wednesday and Friday.
It's another disappointment for a team that's had a few already in this young 2011. After being criticized for their lack of activity in free agency, the Giants lost corners Prince Amukamara (expected to return in about a month), Terrell Thomas (out for the season), Bruce Johnson (out for season) and Brian Witherspoon (out for season), along with linebacker Jonathan Goff and defensive tackle Marvin Austin, both also out for the year. The Giants will also be missing Osi Umenyiora in the Redskins game thanks to a knee injury.
