Putting Donovan McNabb's day in perspective
The decline of Donovan McNabb continued in Week 1. (ZUMAPRESS.com)
In case you're more of a visual learner, and the downright awfulness of Donovan McNabb throwing for 39 yards Sunday against the Chargers (despite playing all 60 minutes) hasn't quite set in yet, here's a list of quarterbacks that topped that total in a game last season.
The list totals 70 in all -- just missing was wide receiver Antwaan Randle El, who hit 39 on the nose. A 2009 list would've included Seattle punter Jon Ryan, who threw for 42 yards on one pass against Arizona.
In case that isn't enough, according to Pro Football Reference, McNabb's 39 yards ranked in the top 100 lowest for any quarterback with 15 attempts in a game or more.
