Arian Foster had 11 yards on four carries before aggravating a hamstring injury.

Arian Foster had his best game of the season in Week 6 ... and his shortest outing in Week 7. Foster reinjured his troublesome hamstring in the first quarter Sunday, an inauspicious follow-up to a 141-yard showing against the Rams last time out.

The loss of Foster made even more difficult the first NFL start (and regular-season appearance) of new Houston quarterback Case Keenum. The University of Houston product was given the nod as the No. 1 QB over T.J. Yates, with Matt Schaub out for Week 7 due to an ankle injury.

The Texans' injury woes nearly piled up further in the second half at Kansas City, when Tate -- Foster's replacement in the starting lineup -- came up hobbled. But he returned to the game shortly thereafter.

Foster carried the ball just four times for 11 yards prior to leaving Sunday. It marked the first time he had finished a game with fewer than 10 carries since a two-attempt outing way back in 2009. Foster did miss three games entirely during the 2011 season.
