Ravens' GM Ozzie Newsome 'feeling fine' after leaving Soldier Field in ambulance

UPDATE (Monday, 10:35 a.m. ET): The Ravens announced Monday morning that GM Ozzie Newsome is on his way back to Baltimore and "feeling fine" after he left Soldier Field in an ambulance.

“Ozzie is expected back in the Ravens’ office and on the treadmill soon,” the Ravens added in their release.

Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome left Soldier Field via ambulance after his team's loss to the Bears, as first reported by WNST's Nestor Aparicio. The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs later confirmed the news, via a Bears source.

Aparicio, a radio personality in Baltimore, tweeted that he rode in an elevator with Newsome and Newsome was "sweating profusely." Biggs reported that "Ravens officials were adamant they wanted person going on ambulance taken out side door of locker room so no one would see."

The news adds an unfortunate element to what already was a bizarre day in Chicago. The Ravens and Bears had their game delayed nearly two hours by a torrential storm that hit Chicago earlier in the afternoon, then the game extended into overtime before the Bears claimed victory.

Newsome, 57, has been the Ravens' general manager since 2002.
