Zane Beadles signs five-year, $30 million deal with Jaguars

The NFL free agent market officially opened at 4 p.m. ET, and teams around the league wasted no time scooping up their top targets and setting the market with some big money deals.

Among the first wave of signings was guard Zane Beadles, who joined the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Cecil Lammey of ESPN Denver, Beadles agreed to a five-year, $30 million deal.

Beadles had previously said that he would "love to continue" his career with the Broncos, but the Jaguars were willing to open the checkbook and the contract was apparently too much to turn down.

The 2012 Pro Bowl guard was reportedly seeking a five-year deal worth at least $5 million per year, so he struck gold in Jacksonville with a contract that exceeded his expectations.

Denver will now need to worry about replacing Beadles and fellow guard Chris Kuper, who retired earlier in the offseason. To replace Beadles, the Broncos could consider moving left tackle Orlando Franklin to guard.

Jacksonville instantly improves its line, but many may question whether or not it has overpaid.

Grade: B. This is not usually how it works, with a player following up a Pro Bowl season by regressing during his contract year ... then cashing in anyway. But here we are.
