The Dallas Cowboys have interest in veteran defensive end Julius Peppers, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com.
Peppers, 34, was released by the Chicago Bears earlier this week in part because of his hefty $13.9 million base salary and $18 million salary cap figure.
The Cowboys have an estimated $13 million in cap space after releasing former starters DeMarcus Mare and Miles Austin.

Peppers had 45 combined tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles last season, and if he signed with the Cowboys he would be reunited with defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, who coached Peppers and the Bears defensive line from 2010-12.
Peppers has 118.5 career sacks and has not missed a game since 2007.
