Free agent tight end Jermichael Finley underwent spinal fusion surgery on Nov. 14 after a scary neck injury ended his 2013 season, but he remains hopeful that he will be able to return to the NFL in 2014.
Earlier in the offseason, it looked promising that Finley would be ready to go with reports of a meeting with the Seattle Seahawks and multiple cases where it was believed he would receive medical clearance.
The clearance never came, and a deal with the Seahawks never occurred, leaving Finley's future in limbo.
Now, Finley is "at least two months" away and "maybe several months more" from signing with a new NFL team, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The Seahawks still have some interest in the free agent tight end, but it will depend on how well he is able to heal over the next few months. Seattle reportedly told Finley to "stay in touch" when he left meeting with the team, leaving the door open for him to land there.
