On Friday morning, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver was arrested in San Jose, Calif. According to the San Jose police, Culliver struck a bicyclist with his vehicle and fled the seen. As a witness attempted to stop Culliver from leaving, he allegedly got out of his vehicle and threatened the witness with brass knuckles before continuing to leave.

When Culliver left finally left the scene, he hit the eyewitness' car.

Culliver was later arrested for felony hit-and-run, reckless driving causing an injury, felony possession of brass knuckles and misdemeanor hit and run for the striking the vehicle.. The brass knuckles were discovered when authorities arrived and searched the vehicle.

He was taken into custody without incident.

The 49ers are aware of the incident and released the obligatory statement.

“The 49ers organization is aware of the recent matter involving Chris Culliver,” the statement read, via KTVU. “We will remain in contact with Chris and the local authorities as we continue to gather the facts regarding this situation. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will reserve further comment at this time.”

Culliver, who missed a majority of the 2013 regular season with a torn ACL, was taken to Santa Clara County jail and booked.
