South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney had an impressive workout at his pro day on Wednesday that many believe confirmed his standing as a top-three pick in the 2014 NFL draft. But his performance reportedly could have been even better.

According to Josh Kendall of The State in Columbia, Clowney went through his pro day today with a “slight groin pull.”

The injury was obviously not a big deal considering how well Clowney performed on the field, and his gutty performance and decision to go through his workout with the injury should help erase any questions about whether or not he has the work ethic to succeed at the next level.

Clowney was criticized by head coach Steve Spurrier during the 2013 season at South Carolina for not playing through injuries, but he showed today that he is willing to fight through pain when necessary.

The focus for Clowney will now turn to private workouts and interviews with potential suitors around the league. He said after his pro day that he has visits scheduled with the Atlanta Falcons and St. Louis Rams.

Atlanta is believed to be considering moving up in the draft to select Clowney, but none of that will matter if he is the No. 1 overall pick of the Houston Texans.
