Free agent running back Chris Johnson visiting New York Jets facility

There hasn't been much movement on the Chris Johnson front since the free agent running back was released by the Tennessee Titans. However, that has quickly changed with news that the New York Jets' interest has finally been taken to the next level.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Johnson is currently in East Rutherford for a visit with Jets officials.

Johnson has reportedly overvalued himself on the open market, but the lack of interest from around the league could lead to him changing his demands and eventually joining the Jets' roster.

After his release, the Jets were immediately mentioned as a potential destination, so the visit with Johnson comes as no surprise.

If the two sides are able to reach an agreement by the end of the week, the former 2,000-yard rusher would be able to join the Jets in time for the beginning of their offseason workouts on Monday.

In New York, Johnson would team up with Chris Ivory to split the workload out of the backfield.

Johnson may be on the downside of his career, but if he has anything left in the tank, he will be able to help round out the Jets' offensive attack and take some pressure off whichever quarterback wins the starting job.
