Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tops NFL players in merchandise sales

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was already a star on the rise after a breakout rookie season in 2012, but his performance in the Seahawks' run to the Super Bowl this year helped vault him to the top of NFL Players Inc.'s Top 50 Player Sales list for the most recent fiscal year.

Wilson jumped from 19th overall in merchandise sales last year to No. 1, bumping his Super Bowl counterpart Peyton Manning from the top spot. Manning dropped to No. 2 in the rankings, which collected sales data from March 2013 to the end of February 2014 and are based on overall sales of all licensed products related to each player.

Wilson wasn't the only member of the Seahawks organization to find himself near the top in NFLPI's merchandise sales. He was joined in the top 20 by running back Marshawn Lynch, who ranked seventh, and defensive back Richard Sherman, who finished No. 12 overall.

Outside of Lynch, the rest of the top 10 was populated by quarterbacks, including Colin Kaepernick (No. 3), Robert Griffin III (No. 4), Aaron Rodgers (No. 5), Tom Brady (No. 6), Eli Manning (No. 8), Andrew Luck (No. 9) and Drew Brees (No. 10).
