New York Jets running back Chris Johnson is looking for a fresh start this season after being released by the Tennessee Titans, but he will also have a chance to get some revenge against his former team.
The Jets will be taking on the Titans later this year, which means Johnson gets to line up across from his former teammates.
When asked about whether there would be any extra excitement when the Jets take on the Titans on Dec. 14, he left no doubt.
“Most definitely, I can’t wait for that game,” he said, via NJ.com.
While Johnson would like to get revenge against his former team, his biggest goal is to reach the playoffs and he feels he is currently in the right situation that will allow him to experience some postseason play.
“I think it’s a situation where I think this team is right on the edge of winning and making the playoffs,” Johnson said. “After being in the league for six years and only going to the playoffs once, that’s something that a guy of my caliber would look toward -- winning and playing in late December and January, and hopefully trying to make it to the big game.”
