Miami Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace admits to being confused in Mike Sherman's offense last season

Last year, the Miami Dolphins paid top dollar in free agency for speedy wide receiver Mike Wallace. Unfortunately for the team, Wallace went on to have one of the more underwhelming seasons of his career, recording a career-high in catches but finishing with just 930 yards and five touchdowns.

Many were left wondering why Wallace had such a pedestrian debut in Miami, and he finally provided some insight when speaking to the media earlier this week. Wallace says he not know what was going on in offensive coordinator Mike Sherman's offensive scheme.

He wouldn't be the only one.

“I didn’t feel like I knew what was going on [last year],” Wallace said, via The Palm Beach Post.

Wallace is working this offseason with new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, who is bringing some excitement to Miami from the Philadelphia Eagles. While Wallace is still working hard to learn the new system, he already feels more comfortable than he did a year ago.

“It’s still new, just because it’s a new offense, but at the same time I feel a lot more comfortable,” he added.
